Family Care
We at Hamilton Dental Group believe the type of and timing of the initial introduction to dentistry can prove to be significant to future dental experiences. Most children may be introduced as early as three years of age but, due to differences in the degree of maturity in children, parents will be a better guide in knowing their child and what he or she is prepared for by that age.
Our dentists are gentle and sensitive to the possible uncertainties associated with the dental procedures with years of professional experience no matter what the age.
Routine Hygiene
Scheduled visits to our office for preventive care help you avoid costly and extensive dental treatment. We recommend dental cleaning and exams be scheduled every six months. Technological advances enable us to detect changes in your dental health which are often linked to other conditions of one's physical well being.
Digital Radiography
Hamilton Dental Group recognizes concerns over exposure during traditional x-rays. Digital radiography reduces radiation exposure by 90% while providing higher quality diagnostic images. Additional benefits include: faster results, inclusion of soft and hard tissue images, earlier detection of decay or bone loss, discovery of possible abscesses, cysts, tumors.
Periodontal Examinations
Retaining your teeth for your life is our primary goal. Poor gum health is the leading cause of tooth loss. We receive extensive training in gentle, effective, non-surgical approaches to treat the greatest threat to your bright smile. Research indicates a correlation between gum disease and increased incidence of heart disease, regular examinations using instruments such as the Florida Probe can aid in early discovery and treatment.
Periodontal disease occurs when there is a bacterials infection in the gums. This infection is caused by plaque and tartar. Certain people have a genetic pre-disposition toward this disease. It should also be noted that those who smoke should be especially careful knowing that they are at higher risk of developing the disease. Periodontal disease is also known to advance more quickly in those patients with diabetes.
Some of the symptoms affiliated with Periodontal disease include: recession of gums, swelling of gums, Halitosis/bad breath, bleeding of gums during brushing or flossing, pockets between teeth and gums.
Fresh Breath Treatment
If you've had problems with bad breath, we'll determine the source, then you'll benefit from lasting refreshing (and affordable) solutions that will bring you closer to friends, family, and coworkers!
Wisdom Teeth
Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the final teeth to develop. Most of us have four wisdom teeth, one in each corner of the mouth. They usually emerge during our late teens or early twenties. Often wisdom teeth become trapped, or impacted, in the jawbone and cause crowding, displacement, decay, infection, or gum disease. Impacted wisdom teeth can grow in many different directions: horizontally, vertically, or at an angle which often require extraction.
Root Canal
If your tooth's nerve chamber becomes infected by decay, root canal treatment is often the only way to save your tooth. Inside your tooth's hard outer shell is a nourishing pulp of blood vessels, lymph vessels, and nerves. The root canals, which contain the pulp, extend to the bone. Deep tooth decay, or an injury, can cause serious damage and infection to the pulp's nerves and vessels. Root canal, or endodontic, treatment cleans out the infected pulp chamber and repairs the damage.
